ABOUT ME

My name is Marielle Bellow and I am a recent graduate of Western Michigan University.

I grew up in Macomb, Michigan with my mom, dad, and brother Nick. As a child, I was always playing teacher and asking my family and friends to act as my students. When I entered my senior year of high school, I decided to join the Teacher Cadet program on a whim. I assisted a second grade teacher in her general education classroom for 2 hours every day. One of the tasks that I was regularly appointed was to work with three students; 2 of these wonderful students had ADHD and the third student had dyslexia.

These three students just needed an extra helping hand to keep them on task and to explain the things that they were learning in different ways. At the end of the school year, I was informed by the second grade teacher that if it weren't for the time I had spent with those 3 students, they may not have reached grade level in each subject. I was astounded to hear that these students' only extra help was that of a high school student. It was not this teachers fault but the fact that the district could not find a special educator for their school. That was the moment when I realized that I wanted to be that special educator that gave student's the extra help and modifications they need so that they can reach their full potential.

Your students are the reason that I love what I do. I am here to help your students learn to the best of their abilities. I create a comfortable and safe learning environment that meets the needs of every individual student. I believe in parent involvement in every aspect of the education process and will always keep parents updated about what their students are working on and the progress that they are making. I look forward to working with my students every day and cannot wait to see all of their progress!
